Lust And Love May Not Be The Same After All

The emotion of love is defined by a complex set of behaviors and emotions characterized by intense intimacy, desire, romance, commitment, and emotional support. It entails affection, closeness, protection, trust, attraction, sharing, and respect. There is love between people of all kinds and it includes both romantic and platonic love. However, love can vary greatly over time and can vary even between different cultures.

In romantic love, the feelings are normally more intense than those felt in other forms of love. It is normally accompanied by physical touching and bonding which can involve kissing, cuddling, petting, stroking, kissing, or fondling. It can also include sexual touching or sex. Romantic love is one of the most intense emotions, yet most of us rarely express our feelings towards another person, unless we feel very strongly about it.

One of the most common forms of affection that most of us practice is passionate love. Sometimes this is expressed as lust, but most of the time it is more of a combination of these two. When we practice passionate love, there is often an intense connection and longing for someone or something, usually of a different gender and/or race.

Most people have a tendency to practice attachment love, too. This type of love includes having an emotional bond to another person. It may be based on a parent, friend, or other significant person. Many of us tend to develop these strong feelings towards another person while we are young children.

Then we begin to experience detachment and later on, separation anxiety. These are intense feelings of pain and fear that stem from feeling abandoned and removed from the person we are very close to. These intense emotions can persist for a long time before they subside. Most of us learn how to deal with these negative emotions by developing a positive emotions such as happiness, joy, pride, acceptance, patience, etc. This is basically the same thing as practicing attachment and detachment.

Love takes a variety of forms. It can be practiced individually as well as with others. The more I continue to practice my lessons of love, the better I will become – both in my intimate relationships and in my overall well-being as well.

If you think that lust and love may not be that different after all, then perhaps you need to re-examine your views on relationships. Loving another person includes feelings of compassion and caring. You may have been programmed from birth by your parents, society, and other influencers to practice these types of behaviors. Although your heart may be filled with lust, your head may be saying, “Honey, I am content with my own feelings.”

Do not be fooled into thinking that lust and love are the same. While both emotions can be healthy, you have to differentiate between the two. While they are often closely related, they are not the same thing. To grow in your life, you have to learn how to practice true love and compassion – which are the foundations of connecting with another person on a deeper level.
